Scope of Work
Operating Engineers are responsible for the operation and maintenance of heavy and portable construction equipment. These skilled professionals operate machinery such as bulldozers and scrapers on highway projects, cranes on building sites, and hydraulic backhoes for sewer and water line installations. They may also work with large-scale equipment like asphalt plants. Due to the nature of the work, operating engineers often experience seasonal employment and are regularly exposed to varying weather conditions, particularly when working with open-cab machinery.
