Minimum Qualifications

Apprenticeship Overview

Length of Program

  • 3 years or 3600 hours
  • Plasterers attend classes one day every 2 weeks
  • Cement Mason training is held during the winter months

Scope of Work

Cement Masons:
Cement Masons are skilled tradespeople who specialize in smoothing and finishing the surfaces of freshly poured concrete, including floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs. They utilize both hand and power tools to achieve durable and aesthetically refined surfaces.

Plasterers:
Plasterers are responsible for applying coats of plaster to interior walls, ceilings, and partitions, creating smooth and finished surfaces. Their expertise also extends to the installation and creation of decorative elements such as panels, cornices, and moldings. In addition to new construction, plasterers play a vital role in the restoration of historic structures and contribute their skills to the design of theatrical and film production sets.
